Maderkit Success Story

General Context.

Maderkit is a Colombian company that manufactures and sells wooden furniture for the home (bedroom, living room, kitchen, study, gaming area, and bathroom), operating both a physical store and a digital channel. A business of this scale handles a high volume of financial and commercial information every month.

Challenge.

Before the project, the finance team built the P&L and the balance sheet by hand every month in Excel: it extracted data from SIESA, rebuilt the formulas, and emailed the file to whoever needed it. On the commercial side, the reports for inventory, sell out, freight, sales, and average ticket lived in separate Excel files, each with its own manual update. To consult them, you had to request them from the area lead.

From data to action.

CepoBIA built the same end-to-end value chain: from data in SIESA to decisions in a self-service portal, unifying the financial side (Power BI) and the commercial side (SQL Server) on a single source.

What changed.

The report stopped being a file you had to request and became a report you simply consult:

  • Build time: from 1 or 2 days assembling the report by hand, to information available in near real time.
  • Frequency: from a monthly update before the committee meeting, to daily access.
  • Access: the user used to request the report from the area lead; today the manager and any authorized user consult it directly.
  • Governance: from each area with its own version of the data, to a single common source for both the financial and commercial sides.

A single portal.

The portal did not stop at the financial and commercial developments. Reports that other areas already had in Power BI (receivables, treasury, and Mexico analysis) and third-party developments such as WaBi and CAD were also brought into it. The result is a single place where any authorized user finds the company's information, no matter who built the report.
